Sikhs firmly believe in doing selfless community service, called “Seva”.
Over the last several years, Gurudwara Sikh Sangat’s congregation has been involved in several community service projects.
Some of the ongoing ones are:
- Tarrant Area Food Bank partnership: ACTIVE
Euless Gurdwara Sangat has been working with the Tarrant Area Food Bank to provide fresh fruit, vegetables, and other uncooked vegetarian food to lower income families since May of 2019. This community Seva is a practical example of our Sikh value of ‘Vand Chankna’ (sharing one’s earnings).
This community Seva is conducted every 1st Wednesday of the Month, starting at 5 PM till 7 PM. Tarrant Area food bank drops off food that is passed out to the families in need with the help of our volunteers. This food distribution takes place outside in the parking lot of Gurdwara Sikh Sangat in a contact-less fashion.
This Seva helps over 200 households monthly. In addition, this Seva is a great way to let our neighboring Euless community know that we care.
If you are interested in helping out, please call/text 512-762-4259 or 682-558-9943 or email us at Sikh Community Food Pantry
