Gurudwara Sikh Sangat
On behalf of the congregation of Gurudwara Sikh Sangat (Sikh Temple in Euless), we would like to invite you to the Grand Opening of our new building.
As you may know, we have been conducting religious services in Euless since 2000. To serve the needs of our growing congregation, a new building was constructed and religious services were started there in December 2017.
Sikhs have been in the United States for more than 100 years and have contributed to the country’s growth and development ever since. The three pillars of the Sikh religion are remembrance of God, earning an honest living, and sharing one’s blessings with others. Many Sikhs can be recognized by their long beards and turbans which they keep as part of their identity. Sikhs are proud to part of the American fabric and the DFW community!
The Grand Opening is timed to coincide with the annual celebration of Vaisakhi, which is one of the most revered days in Sikhism. In 1699, the tenth guru (saint) of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh, chose Vaisakhi as the occasion to transform the Sikhs into a family of saint soldiers, known as the Khalsa Panth, and gave them their current appearance.
Vaisakhi celebrations at the Euless Gurudwara include three days of continuous prayers, followed by singing of the hymns from the Sikh holy book, as well as free communal meals on all three days. People of all faiths are welcome to attend.
There will be a special Outreach program to thank our City officials and to meet our neighbors, from 11 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, April 21st. This program will be in English. Please RSVP by going to the Open House tab above.
